This is the latest project- “KaffeeMaschine 8” of Axel, built for Guillaume Bureau, living in Switzerland.
He wanted a pure Cafe Racer with a moderate riding position and some space for a pillion rider, to share the corners of the Swiss Alps with his girl.
The donor bike was a Le Mans 2 which got a total revision of engine/transmission/cardan drive, besides some HTMoto tuning with a dynamically balanced crank assembly, 1000ccm cylinders/pistons, electronic ignition and a handmade, stainless steel exhaust system.
Alluminium rims are Morad, shocks are Ikon, FAC dampers in the fork, Motogadget instrument, connected to a custom-built wire loom.
The brake system was improved by modern cylinders, stainless hoses and a new rear caliper on a brake torque support.
The alluminium parts are handmade and sanded semi-matt, as usual. Brushed tank and fenders this time though, to match the rough wrinkle paint on the valve and generator covers and the classic structure black on the frame, lights and tank. The handcrafted seat was upholstered with genuine leather, as well as the handlebars.

This night Axel Budde (Kaffeemaschine) from Hamburg (Germany) sent me this custom cafe racer built for Gustav Larsson (Monaco).
The donor bike was a Le Mans 3. The engine was modified with 950ccm cylinders, balanced crank drive, performance cam, electronic double ignition and a lighter clutch. It already had a rare, straight geared racing transmission, which was revised. Wheels are Morad with stainless spokes. Shocks are Ikon, the fork got new tubes and Fac dampers. A minimal electrical system including a Motogadget instrument was built. ALL special components on the bike are handcrafted.
Dry weight is 180kg, power is 82hp.
Axel Budde from Hamburg/Germany sent me another superb Guzzi. The “Kaffeemaschine” (coffee machine) company is
building unique cafe racers and bespoke bikes, based on the classic Guzzi V2-engine and frame.
The racer was built for an English customer – John Purser (JP).
The donor bike was his old T3 California. The wasted fat lady was reborn as a skinny supermodel (180kg dryweight) – only the frame lost 3kg of needless metal.
The engine was modified to LM 850 specs, ALL components on the bike are handcrafted. I even modified the few aftermarket parts, to match the optics.
Shocks are Ikon, fork is of a Le Mans 3 with new tubes and FAC dampers, minimal electrical system including a Motogadget instrument, electronic ignition and Dyna coils.
